A and T Schools

Brief History

Education being the only legacy you can pass to children is the surest way of ensuring the success of an individual. It has been noticed that this is the only way one can participate in the training and equipping children for the innumerable struds of life. As a lover of children, whether they are members of my nuclear family or not, who could not fold her hands and see these children languish academically when I can help, I decided to nurse A & T College.

My doing this is to help raise this sinking sector of our educational sector and perpetuate the original aims and objectives of secondary school education.

With the above painted picture of our educational system at the back of my mind, I decided to map out strategies that will answer the questions of many concerned Nigerians as to how to move our secondary education forward. These strategies are aimed at producing academically enviable crop of youths in our country. It is also aimed at the restoration of our highly cherished moral values and glory among our youths in the secondary schools. The spillover effects are that unconsciously, and egalitarian society will be raised. This is true as when youth who form the greater proportion of the society are educated in such a way that they rely less on the adults while solving problems involving or based on local and national issues, they secure not just themselves alone but the nation at large.

Our curriculum has been well designed to meet the above challenges. We started, on the 20th day of September, 1999 with eleven students and dedicated and qualified teachers in all the subjects offered at Junior Secondary School level. Our watchwords are physical, moral, emotional and intellectual development.

Although, the low number in attendance was demoralizing, I decided to take the bull by the horn by marching forward without looking back or side-ways.

I had always been optimistic and never pessimistic, believing that one day, God will make the impossible greatly possible.
